What You’ll Need to Make Warm Beer & Cheese Dip

  • Butter – We use regular salted butter, but unsalted butter may also be used.

  • Flour – We prefer to use all purpose flour for this dip.

  • Beer – One cup of beer. This dip has a deeper flavor when using darker beer, but any beer may be used.

  • Worcestershire Sauce – This adds a savory and sweet background flavor to the dip.

  • Milk – 1/2 cup. We use regular whole milk for this. Evaporated milk, 2%, 1% or skim milk may be substituted.

  • Dry Mustard Powder – If you don’t have dry mustard powder, use one tablespoon of regular prepared mustard in it’s place.

  • Shredded Cheese – This dip is best made with shredded sharp cheddar cheese, although any cheddar or cheddar blend may be used.

  • Garlic Powder, Salt & Pepper – Common pantry ingredients.
