What you’ll Need to Make 3 Ingredient Butterscotch Fudge
- Butter or Cooking Spray – for greasing the pan so the fudge doesn’t stick. You’ll also need parchment paper or foil to line the pan.
- Butterscotch Chips – 11 oz package, about 3 cups of chips. Store brand works just as well as name brand in this recipe.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk – one can, 14 oz. This is a necessary ingredient and really there aren’t any fast substitutions.
- Vanilla Extract – this ingredient is not necessary but it enhances the flavor of the fudge and we love it!
How to Make 3 Ingredient Butterscotch Fudge
I love having a couple of quick and easy recipes in my back pocket and this one fits the bill. Most of the time I have all of the ingredients in the pantry already just waiting to be transformed into delicious, delectable 3 Ingredient Butterscotch fudge.
Please note: Sweetened condensed milk is a necessary element of this fudge and evaporated milk is not the same. Be sure that you have a 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk for this recipe!
Line a square pan (8 or 9 inch) with parchment paper or foil extending up the sides of the pan. Grease with butter or cooking spray and set aside.
Heat a heavy bottomed saucepan over medium-low heat. Place butterscotch chips and sweetened condensed milk into saucepan and stir.
Cook, stirring often, until butterscotch chips have melted and the mixture has become smooth.
Stir in vanilla extract until it is well combined.
Remove from heat and spread evenly into prepared pan.
Chill for at least four hours in the refrigerator before cutting.
Remove from pan by lifting foil or parchment. Cut the fudge into squares. Store leftover fudge in an airtight container. Enjoy!
