Every family has a signature dish that they are known for that they get asked to bring to events. The recipe in this house that all of our friends and family eagerly await from our kitchen is our Baked Buffalo Chicken Dip. We have been taking this to gatherings for years and it never disappoints.
It is a great recipe because it is different than the traditional buffalo chicken dip that people usually make. All of the ingredients are combined together before they are baked to warm, delicious perfection!
Some Thoughts About Deli Chicken Salad
While developing this recipe, a trip to the deli to get the required three cups of chicken salad almost made us change our minds. Pre-made chicken salad is a lot more expensive than it should be! Luckily, we have a great recipe for chicken salad right here on this site and it is really easy to make.
If you are strapped for time or can find deli chicken salad that is reasonably priced, use that. But if you want to make your own, use the recipe for Best Chicken Salad Ever. Simple to make and just the right amount for this recipe!
What You’ll Need to Make Baked Buffalo Chicken Dip
- Cream Cheese – We use full fat cream cheese but light cream cheese may be substituted. Softening the cream cheese for 20-30 minutes on the counter makes it easier to mix and achieve a smoother consistency.
- Hot Wing Sauce – we prefer Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Wings Hot Sauce.
- Sour Cream – We use regular sour cream but you can use light sour cream instead.
- Powdered Ranch Dressing Mix – Name brand or generic, you only need a tablespoon.
- Deli Chicken Salad – 3 cups or 1 recipe of our Best Chicken Salad Ever.
- Shredded Cheese – Cheddar (sharp or medium) or cheddar-jack cheese.
- Frito’s Scoops – or any tortilla chips for serving.
