What you’ll need to make Simple Homemade Guacamole

  • Avocados – Three fresh avocados, peeled and cut into chunks.

  • Fresh Lime – One small lime, juiced, about 2 tablespoons, Bottled lime juice may be used instead.

  • Pantry Spices – Kosher salt, Cumin, Cayenne,

  • Onion – 1 cup, diced. White, yellow or purple onion may be used,

  • Jalapeno – Fresh or pickled, 1 tablespoon diced. Use more or less according to how spicy you like it.

  • Tomatoes – We prefer to use Roma tomatoes as they are firm and hold their shape. Cherry or grape tomatoes may be used instead.

  • Fresh Cilantro – Fresh really is best in this guacamole.

  • Garlic – We usually use 1 clove of fresh minced garlic. This is about 1/2 teaspoon and fresh garlic is the best choice for this guacamole.

Guacamole can brown if left exposed to the air. Placing a piece of plastic wrap directly down on the surface of the guacamole before allowing it to rest for an hour at room temperature (and right up until serving) will keep this from happening!

Allow to stand for one hour at room temperature prior to serving.

    Stir and enjoy!
