Restaurant Style Teriyaki Sauce makes a delicious addition to vegetables and proteins with it’s sweet and savory flavor. Made up of everyday ingredients, it’s great as a marinade or a sauce!

Teriyaki sauce is a common ingredient in many recipes but it’s not something that you may always have on hand. Great news! Chances are you have everything you need to make your own right in your kitchen!

Restaurant Style Teriyaki Sauce only takes about 10 minutes to make and uses common pantry ingredients. This recipe makes about 1.5 cups and is an awesome sauce but also makes a great marinade!

What you’ll need to make Restaurant Style Teriyaki Sauce

  • soy sauce
  • water
  • ground ginger
  • garlic powder
  • brown sugar
  • honey
  • cornstarch

How to make Restaurant Style Teriyaki Sauce

Sweet & savory homemade teriyaki sauce is such an easy thing to make. A totally delicious addition to vegetables and proteins!

Sauce before heating in a saucepan being stirred.

In a small saucepan combine the soy sauce, 1 cup of water, ginger, garlic powder, packed brown sugar and honey.

Whisk together and heat to a simmer over medium heat.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the remaining 1/4 cup of water and the cornstarch. Stir until dissolved. Set aside.

Once the sauce has started to bubble, whisk in the cornstarch mixture.

Sauce bubbling and visibly thickened in the saucepan with a wooden spoon.

The sauce will start to thicken right away.

Remove from heat and use immediately or cool and store covered in the refrigerator until ready to use. Enjoy!
