Ingredients for Simple & Delicious Strawberry Sherbet.

What you’ll need to make Simple & Delicious Strawberry Sherbet

STRAWBERRIES – Fresh strawberries are always the best but frozen strawberries may also be used, just allow them to thaw partially. This is also great when made with raspberries or blueberries (strained to remove seeds & skins) or peeled peaches.

MILK – Best choices for the creamiest sherbet are whole milk or 2% milk. You can use skim milk or 1% milk but the sherbet will freeze harder because the increased milk fat helps to keep it soft.

SUGAR – We prefer to use regular white granulated sugar in this recipe but you can substitute 3/4 cup honey if you prefer.

LEMON JUICE – Don’t skip this! You need it. The acidity really kicks up the flavor of the strawberries. Use fresh lemon juice or bottled, either is fine!

What’s the difference between Sherbet and Sorbet?

Sherbet and Sorbet are both frozen fruity treats, both delicious, both easy to make! So what’s the difference?

  • According to Food Network, Sherbet contains dairy while sorbet has just fruit and sugar.

  • Sherbet is a richer and has a creamier consistency while sorbet has an icier consistency.

  • Both sherbet and sorbet have less calories than ice cream.
