What you’ll need to make Quick Broiled Tomato Toasties
- Sliced Bread – White or wheat, We use grocery store bread for convenience but any sliced bread may be used.
- American Cheese Slices – For convenience and great results, we use American cheese. Some other substitutions include Cheddar, Swiss, Provolone, Monterey Jack, or Havarti.
- Tomato – We love to use Roma tomatoes for these because of their meaty texture and lower moisture content. Beefsteak tomatoes also work well.
- Onion – We typically use chopped yellow onions but white onions, sweet onions, red onions, or even shallots may be used instead.
- Salt & Pepper – We prefer the combination of kosher salt and fresh ground pepper but use whatever you have!
