Ingredients for Poppy Seed Dressing.

What you’ll need to make Poppy Seed Dressing

  • Apple Cider Vinegar – A mild, slightly sweet apple flavored fermented vinegar. You can substitute red wine vinegar or white vinegar but there may be a more noticeable and sharper vinegar flavor.

  • White Sugar – Regular white granulated sugar.

  • Dry Mustard Powder – Made from ground mustard seeds, this helps to balance the sweetness of the fruit and helps with emulsification.

  • Salt – We use regular iodized table salt or fine sea salt.

  • Olive Oil – We use extra virgin olive oil but any olive oil, avocado oil, vegetable oil or canola oil may be used for this recipe.

  • Poppy Seeds – These add a subtle nutty flavor to the dressing and a textural element to the fruit salad.

I made this dressing last night as suggested and let it sit out all night. Took the dressing with salad of red leaf and iceberg lettuce, sliced white mushrooms, cubed imitation crab leg, thinly shredded parmesan cheese and dressing, all chilled in work fridge til lunch time.
The poppy dressing is superb! Easy quick recipe.
    Thank you
