An easy to make weeknight dish, this healthier alternative offers all the deliciousness of a Big Mac in a Keto friendly dinner salad!
It is hard to convince my family to eat salads for dinner but they are much more likely to go along with it if it contains something other than just vegetables. The Big Mac Salad Bowl (Keto) offers a combination of protein and salad so it’s a little more substantial. Much like our Grilled Chicken Fajita Salad, this one is something a little more dinner-ish.
This Big Mac Salad Bowl uses ground beef as the protein and is kind of like a Taco Salad but with a surprisingly different flavor profile. The chopped pickles and the creamy Big Mac dressing really give it all the same flavors as biting into a Big Mac! It is relatively easy to put together and the whole family loves it. It’s Keto-friendly too!
How to make Big Mac Salad Bowls
Originally I found this recipe idea on Kasey Trenum’s site when my husband was doing Keto for the first time and I was looking for recipes that the family might like.
As written, it is a fantastic recipe but as usual, I have made a few tweaks that make it a little easier for me to throw together without a lot of preparation!

In a small bowl combine 1/2 cup mayo, 2 tbsp chopped dill hamburger pickles, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, paprika, garlic powder and onion powder.

Stir until well combined. Cover and store in the refrigerator until ready to use. This can be made ahead and stored for up to three days.

Heat a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, season with garlic powder and onion powder and cook until completely browned and cooked through (about 10 minutes). Drain off excess fat.
*Since you are going to drain the fat from this, you don’t need to use super lean ground beef – feel free to use the higher fat content (and cheaper!) version.

Reduce the heat to low. To the skillet add ketchup, yellow mustard, Worchestershire sauce, Coco Aminos, salt, pepper and oregano leaves and stir to combine.

Divide the lettuce evenly between four bowls. Top the lettuce with the meat mixture, followed by equal portions of the Big Mac dressing.
Sprinkle each portion with shredded cheese and then top each with the chopped shallot (or purple onion), tomatoes and pickles. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
