Perfectly seasoned, tender and juicy air fried chicken thighs with golden, crispy skin. An easy weeknight comfort food dinner!

For busy families on a budget, bone in, skin on chicken thighs are a great dinner choice!

A quick Italian salad dressing marinade helps to keep the chicken moist and tender and the air fryer creates a seasoned crispy skin. Delicious and easy!

Ingredients for Crispy Juicy Air Fryer Chicken Thighs.

What You’ll Need to make Crispy Juicy Air Fryer Chicken Thighs

  • Chicken – We use bone in, skin on chicken thighs. They stay moist and the skin gets crispy!

  • Pantry Seasonings – Salt & pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.

  • Italian Salad Dressing – Pre-made, bottled salad dressing, any brand.


How to make Crispy Juicy Air Fryer Chicken Thighs

Air fryer chicken thighs are an easy and tasty weeknight dinner. Very little effort and great big flavor!

Chicken thighs on a plate seasoned with salt & pepper.

Season the chicken thighs with salt & pepper to taste and place into a large zip top bag.

Adding the Italian salad dressing to the chicken in a zip top bag.

Pour Italian salad dressing over the chicken thighs and push the chicken around to coat.

Allow to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to overnight.

Marinated chicken on an air fryer rack, seasoned with garlic powder and onion powder.

When ready, remove chicken from zip top bag place onto a plate. Sprinkle both sides of the chicken with the garlic powder and onion powder.

Preheat air fryer for 5 minutes at 360 degrees.

Place the chicken into air fryer and cook for 15 minutes. 

Chicken thighs on an air fryer rack halfway through the cooking time.

Flip chicken over* and cook for an additional 15 minutes or until thoroughly cooked.

*If you are using an air fryer with racks, you don’t need to do this, but in a basket type, this is important.

Checking the chicken temperature with an instant read thermometer.

The temperature should be 165 degrees on an instant read thermometer.

Remove chicken from air fryer and serve immediately. Enjoy!
